450 rooms of pure luxury built around a central lobby, restaurant and entertainment area. It's all in the details at Excellence, for instance, Bvlgari toiletries are offered in every Excellence Club room, honeymoon suites house two person jacuzzi's with breathtaking views of the ocean and a special turn-down for newlyweds includes rose petal hot tubs and champagne. The hotel has a policy to annually upgrade each property to keep standards high, evidenced this year by the new flat screen TV's to be placed in every Excellence Club room, new fitness facility, redecoration of many rooms and restaurants and the new outdoor Pizzeria to start construction soon.
Onsite wedding planner, Ana Rivas, is dedicated to making every wedding at Excellence perfect, romantic and ultimately dreamy. She has an in depth consultation with brides upon arrival to walk through wedding details and relieve brides of wedding stress...all you have to do is choose the flavour of your cake, the location of your wedding and type of cocktail to serve at the post ceremony toast.
The resort offers a choice of two locations for wedding ceremonies, a celestial gazebo with tiled walkway to deliver you by horse drawn carriage from the entrance of the property, or a decorated Arch on the beach. Note; the resort sprays the beach areas before ceremonies to ensure that sand flies are kept at bay!
Everything about this 'couples only' resort is tuned into romance and top quality service. Couple spa treatments, complimentary groom suite for the night before the wedding, and complimentary champagne breakfast in bed for honeymooners. Its no wonder that 300 weddings took place here last year, despite the resort's self imposed limit of only one wedding per day!
Maybe it's the 2 to 1 ratio of staff to guests, or the sounds of saxophonist Domingo serenading couples on the Santo Domingo Boulevard every night by candlelight, or the private beach dining service that does it. Whatever it is, this place is magical beyond words.
The Details:
Suites range from $200 - $285 (Off season), to $425 (Peak Season) per person, per night;
Excellence Club rooms start at $265 - $550 per person, per night, with the Honeymoon Suite priced at $350.
Wedding packages are additional, starting at $850, however, complimentary wedding package are offered to couples booking 7 nights in an ocean view Excellence Club Suite starting at $310 per person, per night.
