Arch rival of Excellence is the Paradisus family of Sol Melia resorts in Punta Cana. Two resorts, only a few miles apart, differ in age (Punta Cana is 11 years old, Palma Real newly built) but offer similar plans and amenities.
Unlike Excellence, Paradisus caters to families, and their family concierge service is testament to this. Parents can select to have a carer dedicated to their family, along with walkie talkies to coordinate daily activities on the resort's campus leaving you free to enjoy the many romantic locations on offer. Be careful, the layout of Paradisus Punta Cana campus was more than confusing and very difficult to navigate – thankfully they have a bus that travels the main circuits every couple of minutes to get you from A to B painlessly.
Couples have a choice of 4 wedding settings at Paradisus Punta Cana; poolside gazebo, garden gazebo, beach front, or actually on the beach – each with its own unique set of advantages. Paradisus Resorts have also partnered with Beverly Clark Collection to provide hand crafted wedding accessories, favors and gifts as well as training to on site wedding consultants working at the resorts to ensure that services are kept at international standards.
These sprawling complexes are all about variety and activity. At Paradisus Punta Cana, grab a Presidente (the Dominican Republic's native beer) at one of the 7 bars or 10 restaurants, play golf at the Cocotal Golf & Country Club, indulge yourself in the wellness spa or simply relax in a beachside cabana and catch the breeze, this resort has everything to offer and more.
