  • Couples wishing to get married in USVI must send a Marriage application to the court. Upon receipt of the Marriage Application, an eight-day waiting period is required, during which time the application is posted for public inspection.

You should attach an accompanying letter with the Application detailing: 1. Date of Visit 2. Length of stay - Before your marriage license can be issued, you are required to personally appear before the Clerk of the Court or her designee.
Office hours are:
8:00am through 5:00pm Monday through Friday, except holiday; and Saturdays from 10:00am through 12;00 noon, except Carnival Saturday.
Additionally, by pre-arrangement and upon the payment of a $150.00 fee, we will be available on Sundays between 9:30 and 10:30 am. - No physical examination or blood test is required.

Documents Required

  • Divorcees will need to bring a certified copy of the divorce decree to be filed along with the application for examination by the court prior to issuance of the license.
  • Certified documents proving widowed status is required if you are a widower
  • Legal age is 18. An advidavit, with the signatures of both parents, is required for folks under 18
  • Documentation (passport or VISA) is needed if you are not a U.S. citizen

<h2>Fees</h2>

The fee for filing a marriage application is $50.00 which is "non-refundable" and the fee for the marriage license is also $50.00. There is an additional fee of $200 if you are not being married in court by a judge.

All fees are to be paid by certified check, money order or cash only when paying in person to the Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands

If you wish to be married by a clergy, you may write directly to the denomination of your choice. We cannot make arrangements for churches.

The registrar's office should be contacted for specific rules regarding planning your destination or beach wedding in U.S. Virgin Islands. They will also provide information regarding marriage licenses and marriage certificates.
