Hi Kaereste, getting married in Jamaica is pretty easy.

To get married legally in Jamaica, no blood tests are required. Your documents will be in English, which is a plus if you are a native English-speaker.

You only have to be in Jamaica for 24 hours before getting legally married. You need a marriage license, providing identification, notarized copy of birth certificates, name change documents, divorce certificates, death certificates if widowed, etc.

Most resorts will get the marriage license for you from Kingston ahead of time, making the process very easy. The marriage is legal in the United States as long as it is legally performed in Jamaica.

Most of the major resorts in Jamaica offer wedding services. Many of the all-inclusives claim they offer "free" weddings, but they usually charge around $200 which they claim is for government fees. However, the actual government fees are around $75. Nonetheless, these packages are a great deal and your entire vacation including the wedding will be much cheaper that just a small wedding in the U.S. Getting married in Jamaica is a great way to have a wonderful trip, memorable wedding, and save a lot of money over a traditional wedding.

The other alternative is to plan your own Jamaican wedding. Rent a private villa, hire a local wedding planner, and plan your own wedding.

You can find a lot of tips on how to arrange a perfect wedding on the internet. All the best Smile
