I will be getting married by church in the Dominican Republic. The priest said he recommends for me to get married first in the United States through the justice of the priest. Does anyone know why? Has anyone else done it this way?

may be he needs some documentationas you are US citizen, btw it is really srange, i have never heard this thing before
