Hello. Has anyone looked into or know anything about having a wedding in Belize????

Hi Lindsay and Jenn.

Lindsay, have you been to Belize or the Cayes? First off, most people traveling to the Cayes take a 10 minute flight and water taxi by boat is not the only transport.

As far as fees being higher due to "translation" I am not certain what you mean. Belize is an English speaking country therefore no translation is required. Also, depending on which type of license you apply for you do not need to be in Belize 24 hours prior to receiving a license to marry.

Also, we do not recommend nor prefer a couple to wait until they arrive here to do anything, we do this with the long prior to arrival and just about all venues prefer this. When you say there is not a lot of "table" space and you do not recommend the destination for a party over 50, what specific venue are you speaking of? We hold many weddings here with over 100 people. We plan numerous weddings per year which are upscale and not a "casual" setting as you've mentioned.

Have you been down here? You've referred to the islands are "Keys" which are called "Cayes" down here. If you have not yet visited Belize consider a trip and I'd enjoy meeting up with you and hearing about your location you offer for destination weddings.
