NEED HELP WITH BAHAMAS CRUISE WEDDING

I am in the beginning process of planning a wedding for June of 2007. The plan is to take a cruise eiether Carnival or Royal Carribbean and while at port have a wedding in the Bahamas. I know the cruise line has wedding planners but I do not like the packages they offer and believe with proper research I can find better services at more affordable prices. I am in need of a ceremony and reception site for about $5,000 for 50-70 people. Where should I start.

Secondly, of course, congratulations!

Thirdly, do you know whether your cruise will be docking in Grand Baham, or on New Providence?

If its New Providence, I would try contacting Sandals, who have a flagship resort on the island and organise weddings daily. They shouldbe able to work out everything you need in one go - you can even rent their private island like one couple in the photo gallery on this site did!

I'm not too familiar with ptions for Grand Bahama, but hopefully someone here will be able to give you some pointers.
