Hi all! We are planning to get married in Play del Carmen, Mexico in December 2008 at an all-inclusive resort. We are not sure what to do right after the ceremony. Do we have a celebration with everyone or do nothing? We're not sure yet if we are having a reception when we get back....thanks for your help!

The wedding is at 1:00 p.m. Here are the options we are weighing:
1)Cocktail hour (resort provides this at $30/person even tho food/drink is included in all-inclusive pkg);
2) Go to dinner at one of the resort restaurants as a group (the resort does not allow for reservations-no guarantee we would be seated near each other or that all would get in at the same time);
3) Have the reception at a local restaurant;
4) Do nothing-it's other's vacation and you don't want to take away most/all of their day, especially those who will only be in Mexico for four days.
5) other ideas?????

I would say a small reception or cocktail hour afterwards. Then maybe another reception back home.

We are getting married and having a beach BBQ after the reception, but our ceremony is at 4:00-I think it would be nice to have something special for the people who will traveling to be with you.

If you have budget concerns, maybe you should keep the reception small and intimate and have drinks afterwards. Your guests should be understanding. On the same note, you should consider getting your guest some inexpensive wedding favors so they know you had them in mind.

Hi,

It is once in a lifetime event, so you should make it memorable for you and your guest, try to do something fun with your guest to make it memorable, like fun games..
