Cuba destination flower question and makeup?

Hi,
We are booked for our wedding in October 2010, and have some questions about flowers.
We've been told that they can be "iffy" there, and have been advised to bring our own silk flowers.
Has anyone either heard this same, or have you had your wedding there with their flowers? I would really like to have fresh flowers, but not if they're wilted.

Also...I'm a little worried my makeup will melt in the heat (especially the humidity)..any ideas?
