| Hey! I think that Puerto Rico is a great idea. Simply because I know that the food is okay and nobody should get sick. Puerto Rico will be your best bet as far as not getting sick. The Dominican Republic would probably be the next best. Also Puerto Rico has incredible views and great sites to get married at! I'm in favor and hopefully will be married there! |

| We chose St. Lucia first and then we changed it to Jamaica. I think it would have been Punta Cana, Dominican Republic if my fiance was not Dominican...I heard Puerto Rico is really nice...Mexico is not a bad idea either. |

| St. Thomas is great. It's part of the U.S. so it's easy. Marriott is very nice and affordable. |

Puerto Rico is your best bet for affordable since there are cheap flights there, but if you want a nice quiet island feel head ot St John in the USVI very quiet and laid back.

your best bet is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
There are new resorts there that are spectacular!!!! And the prices are simply great.
Weddings are amazing in Punta Cana, beach photos are gorgeous, ceremonies go from super simple to sophisticated. Can't go wrong.
Check out the following resorts:
RIU Palace Punta Cana
Paradisus Palma Real
Majestic Colonial
The legal requirements are minimal, all you need to do is translate some documents.
We got married in Punta Cana.. it was the best thing we could've done! |

I am just starting out as well, and very overwhelmed.
We are also thinking St. Thomas...I have been there 2x on a cruise with FI while we were dating and love the island. I like the fact that it is US territory.
I have also been to St Maarten, St John (my FAVORITE OF ALL, but more expensive), DR, St. Lucia, Barbados, Puerto Rico. |

| i would strongly suggest getting married on Great Exuma, which is very romantic, exotic and has some affordable hotels you can stay at as well. it is a short flight from miami, nassau or fort lauderdale... check out this photographer's website who shot a wedding there at bobbijohart.com to see some photos of a beach wedding on the island. amazing place. |
