I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I am getting "Married" in Feb 09 but I'm looking for a non traditional wedding. I've been divorced for 16 years and my intended has never been married. We've been living together for over 5 years and want to do a "commitment ceremony" or "spiritual ceremony" to commit our love to each other but we do NOT wish to do the legal thing with all the papers and such. Has anyone done this in either Grand Turk, La Romana, or Curocao and know who we can contact for help in setting it up????? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi there....I too, have been divorced and am looking to just have an spiritual wedding ceremony. Our legal, civil ceremony will take place in our home town. The "declaration" too, can be the dream wedding that we are looking for, without the expensive paperwork and hassle. We will be getting married in Punta Cana, DOM REP. next winter and we have decided to "renew" our vows, just a week after we have out actual ceremony here at home. You might want to look into the price lists of your resorts for renewals, and other special events such as anniversaries. At our particular resort, the "wedding" is free, but you have to upgrade your room to a presidential suite, so to speak, with luxurious accomodations and private services, private pools, bars, restaurants, etc. It is $2000.00 upgrade, but the room is gorgeous! I hope its worth it! Its still cheaper than the way I did it the first time, indeed!!! Let me know how you do. Are you having alot of guests??? **you pay per guest for any extras at most resorts...even for a piece of cake!!!*** Beware!
